Welcome!

I'm Abigail "Abby" Horn, LMHCA, SUDP

Together, We Make MMPACS

Professionally, I have experience working as a Drug Court Addictions Counselor. I then transitioned to working on a multidisciplinary team by helping people as Medicated Assistant Treatment Counselor so clients could receive both medical treatment and behavioral services. Afterwards, I worked in mental health intensive inpatient behavioral hospital and rotated with their residential program to help clients transition to a lower level of care. I did my clinical internship at a Co-Occurring outpatient facility and focused on trauma treatment for clients with co-occurring disorders. Upon graduation, I am now qualified to help people with mental health disorders and addiction disorders.

Volunteer Experience

I have experience working with a variety of populations and treatment environments. I first started doing volunteer work as a crisis counselor for community members that were actively feeling suicidal while pursuing my undergraduate. I also volunteered at my university’s Occupational Therapy Club that participated in medical relief for children suffering from disabilities in the Middle East that were not able to get access to treatment in their homeland. Afterwards, I became a volunteer to provide support to victims in human sex trafficking while coordinating with local high schools on human trafficking prevention.

MMPACS History

Creating a Space to Learn From Our Struggles

Moving Mountains Psychotherapy and Counseling Services (MMPACS) was founded in the year 2022. MMPACS wanted to find a way to continue to support all community members outside of a therapy session and grow a community founded in safety and self-compassion. The goal of impacts is to try to remove all barriers that come with getting treatment while providing resources outside of a therapy session. Our culture is quickly losing space for self-reflection and generates shame with our mistakes/failures. At MMPACS, we want to create space to learn from our struggles. Our failures are not absolutes but rather opportunities for growth. We believe that the only way to grow is by having time, safety, and compassion towards one another so we are vulnerable enough to meditate on who we really are. MMPACS works under the principle that we are all in recovery from a lesser version of ourselves.
