The Therapeutic Process
Everyone’s wellness journey is unique. We work diligently with you to create a treatment plan that works best for you and your treatment goals. There may be times when defense mechanisms and/or mental health symptoms blocks people from seeing the big picture. We hope that our professional insight can help you lift those blocks to get the desired results that you are looking for out of treatment. Our goal is to help you live a safe, happy, and healthy life while developing the tools to take on future challenges.
For the first stage of therapy, I work with clients to establish safety and improve emotional regulation skills. This is important because we need to stay in control of our body’s reactions when talking about situations that have played an impact on our lives. By doing this, we can obtain internal and external safety.
Once safety and emotional regulation skills have been established, we will then take steps to work towards your treatment goals. This can include, but is not limited to; processing trauma, working through relationships, understanding anxiety, coping with ADHD, developing skills for psychosis prevention, and understanding addictions we may be struggling with.
Since we will be exploring challenging territory in your life, you might experience greater difficulty throughout our work. As you commit yourself to work through your vulnerable issues and build upon your strengths, it is likely that you will see improvements throughout our work and in the future
